The Design Duo Series - EP3

Taking on what is their biggest residential project to date, the talented twin team have applied their eye for detail and design to transform a run-down Victorian terrace, into a magnificent multi-level residence! Through their very first online series ‘The Design Duo’, Alisa and Lysandra will share their entire renovation journey, providing us with some valuable Reno tips and tricks along the way.

EPISODE 3 - LIVING ROOM, KITCHEN, DINING BACKYARD

In episode 3 of the Design Duo Series, Alisa and Lysandra revealed the kitchen, dining, living room and backyard, sharing their tips and tricks for successful open plan living along the way. Through careful planning and thoughtful placement of furniture, the Design Duo proved it is possible to create separate spaces that still feel connected in an open plan room. Their clever use of zoning will allow the modern family to spend time together whilst performing different daily tasks. A combination of interior and exterior Luxaflex^® Window Covering solutions were used to add an extra touch of elegance and impact to the space they deem ‘the heart of the home’.

THE LIVING ROOM

Luminette^® Privacy Sheers with PowerView^® Motorisation, were used to dress the large glass sliding doors in the living room. The addition of these elegant Softshades in the colour ‘China White’ help to soften the space and provide a sense of luxury, and are what Alisa and Lysandra consider ‘the icing on the cake’.

 
Luminette^® Privacy Sheers also provide a stylish means of controlling the light and cutting out the glare – an important feature especially when watching TV. With a touch of a button, on the Pebble remote or via the PowerView^® app on an iPhone or iPad, the Luminette^® fabric vanes can be rotated for a soft, diffused view through, closed for privacy or drawn back for an unobstructed view to the outside.

KITCHEN DINING

BACKYARD

Alisa and Lysandra featured a Luxaflex^® Como Awning on the terrace exterior. When opened out to its full projection, this folding arm awning acts as an extension of the living room, creating a seamless flow through from the indoors to the outside. Motorised operation was selected for added convenience and control. With a touch of a button the awning opens out to provide shade from the summer sun, creating a comfortable environment to relax or entertain under.
